Infant Feeding & Breastfeeding Support
As a fully trained NCT infant feeding/breastfeeding and lactation counsellor I offer evidence based and person-centred care to ensure that you are listened to and supported on your feeding journey, whatever that may look like for you.
Areas of concern which I can explore with you during our sessions are:
Position and attachment.
Explore how the mode of birth can have an effect on breastfeeding.
Concerns around the baby’s behaviour at the breast.
Sore nipples / uncomfortable feeding.
Engorgement, blocked ducts and mastitis.
Babies who are slow to gain weight.
Supply issues (both under or over).
Expressing.
Supplementary feeding and top-ups.
Paced formula feeding.
Weaning/stopping breastfeeding.
Pumping & combination feeding.
Please note that I am not trained to identify tongue tie and work within the boundaries of my expertise. At some points it may be necessary for me to signpost you to local specialist services e.g. Tongue tie specialist, LBCLC lactation consultant, cranial osteopath or refer you back to your GP/health visitor for further, more in depth diagnostic consultation.
Breastfeeding Support Packages
Antenatal Prep for Breastfeeding Session
- A 2-hour antenatal session to explore breastfeeding, delve into how breast milk is made and the physiology of breastfeeding.
- Looking at position and attachment and the first 6 weeks of your feeding journey.
- Identify common concerns and possible solutions.

Face to Face at Home Feeding Support
- A session at your home (usually around 1.5 to 2 hours) to offer support and counselling on your feeding journey.

1 Hour Phone or Virtual Support
A 1 hour session via phone or video call to offer support and counselling on your feeding journey.

- All postnatal doula packages include infant/breastfeeding and lactation support.
- Infant feeding advice is available from the NCT Feeding line every day from 8am to 12 mid night on 0300 330 0700.
- If you can’t see a package that suits your needs please get in touch to discuss other options I can offer, or to have a tailor-made plan just for you.
- Prices include travel within 10 miles of BH13. Outside this distance there is an additional cost of 45p per mile.
